A SILSDEN travel agent has given an extra helping hand to elderly customers flown back from holidays early due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
Destination, in Kirkgate, has been providing packages of 'essentials' – such as bread, tea bags and milk – to clients, leaving items on the doorsteps of those self isolating.
The firm has brought more than 30 customers back from resorts, helped by tour operator partners.
Shevaun Joy – who jointly owns Destination with business partner Lisa Manditsch – said: "We have been operating for ten years and these are definitely the most challenging of times, however we are proud of our fantastic team and loyal customers and are confident we'll come through this whilst still smiling.
"We've had a very busy time assisting our clients getting back from overseas, plus we have been amending customers' bookings to travel later this year and into next year.
"We didn't want our older-aged clients going without when they arrived back on repatriation flights, so have been putting together and delivering the little essentials packs."
