This week we are taking our readers and past pupils on a trip down memory lane with these images of school days at Bradford’s Wellington First and Middle School.
ECCLESHILL’s new Wellington Junior School officially opened its doors on March the 27, 1969, by a life-long resident of Eccleshill, Alderman Tom Hall, chairman of the Educational Services Committee.
Praising the school, Mr Hall stated that the building would replace the original and its various extensions which opened in 1874. The new school was situated on the former grounds of two Victorian houses, Berkeley House and Highcliffe House also once used by the Telegraph & Argus as a sports ground.
Can you spot anyone you know?
