POLICE are urging people to stay alert over a new coronavirus scam which tricks parents with school meals advice.

West Yorkshire Police said a number of scam emails are circulating and ask parents to send their bank details to the school in order to get free school meals.

The email will offer to help with 'funding' if your child’s school is closed and your child is entitled to free dinners.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "The links are fake and vulnerable families may be giving their bank details online. Please please please do not share your personal details/bank details to anyone. Take care."
