HUMAN Relief Foundation (HRF), the Bradford-based International aid agency, is using its expertise in relief work to help those people who find themselves in need of support due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Mohammed Rahman, Director of Programmes at HRF, said: “We’ve been carrying out complex, large scale, relief and aid projects with major organisations around the world since 1991, and it seemed a perfectly logical decision for us to take that experience, and use it for the benefit of our local communities.
“We have undertaken needs assessments, which is standard relief work practice, and from what we’ve learned, we’ll aim to provide a range of practical services to those individuals, and families, who are finding it difficult to access the help they require.
"This will could involve supplying essential items, organising deliveries, posting mail, topping up gas and electric keys, or simply providing a friendly voice on the end of a phone line, for those who are suffering loneliness during self isolation.
“We’d also like to ask businesses and individuals to get in touch about volunteering time or resources to our efforts, they can contact us directly, or donate to our JustGiving Page.”
