A SUPERFAN hopes this time next year he'll be a millionaire after building a replica of Del Boy's flat.

Mike Hutchinson has made a lovely jubbly recreation of the Trotter family's base from legendary sitcom Only Fools and Horses, which is 16ft by 12ft.

This is the latest off his production line of exciting mock-ups of iconic memorabilia from TV movies, which so far include a DeLorean from the Back to the Future films and Lightning McQueen from Pixar's Cars.

The 42-year-old decided to make Del Boy's pukka home for his enterprising schemes after always being a fan of the much-loved sitcom.

He and his father, Peter, spent two months making the cushty creation, which is transportable and they now hope to take it to a number of exhibits in the future.

It was shown for the first time at a ComicCon exhibition in Liverpool last weekend when stars of the show also had a look at it.

John Challis and Sue Holderness, who played Boycie and wife Marlene in the show, and Philip Pope, who played singer Tony Angelino of 'Crying' fame in a classic episode took a seat on Del Boy's sofa.

Mike, of East Morton, says the flat replica flat cost him around £2,000 and he was a regular shopper at district charity shops for the furniture and other items.

He said: "I have always loved Only Fools and Horses.

"It is all transportable within hours now.

"It took a few weeks to wallpaper and I had to get a graphic designer to design the wallpaper for me. This is after I thought I had found the palm tree wallpaper in the USA, but then I found out it was the wrong stuff.

"I collected most of the things from charity shops like Sue Ryder in Shipley. It took a while to build it, I roped my dad in to help. I already had the wooden panels for the walls for it, which brought the cost down.

"The reaction to the flat at the Liverpool event was awesome.

"It's an old TV programme but little kids loved the flat at the event too. It has such a massive following. It brings a massive amount of attention to it.

"People love to go behind the bar in the flat and I was working on building it since the start of the year."

Mike added he would love to have Del Boy's flat shown off at events or venues in Bradford to promote the district.

Once things become clearer over the coronavirus pandemic and things get back to normal, Mike hopes to show off his unique collection of creations at events and shows across the country.

He is also putting the finishing touches to a replica of the Kitt car from 1980s TV series Knightrider.
