THERE is now a total of seven confirmed coronavirus cases in Bradford district, Public Health England has revealed.

The figure rose by one overnight with medical chiefs now warning the UK is entering a 'fast growth period'.

In the latest conference from Prime Minister Boris Johnson and medical experts Sir Patrick Vallance and Chris Witty, the public was issued new and somewhat firmer guidance on preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Mr Johnson outlined a number of new measures which included: Work from home where possible, tougher social distancing measures and avoid spaces like pubs, restaurants, clubs and pubs.

If someone in your household has one or more of the coronavirus symptoms then all the household should stay home for 14 days, even if you don't have symptoms. This means not even leaving to buy food.

Anyone over 70 should be 'shielded' from social contact for 12 weeks as a protective measure.

The government isn't supporting mass gatherings with emergency workers any more.
