SIR - Shopping in Morrison's today, well trying to.

What's wrong with people - the supermarket's shelves were almost empty of household essentials, toilet rolls, cleaning materials, personal hygiene products and baby essentials.

Surely for everyone's sakes the supermarkets or the Government should restrict the panic buying of greedy individuals.

It seems that businesses are only interested in filling their tills, there is no thought for others.

No one seems to think of people less fortunate than themselves, pensioners, unemployed, families on restricted budgets.

I have heard of families with young babies unable to buy baby formula so how are they able to feed them?

Surely some sort of buying restrictions should be implemented, or before long someone may die through lack of being able to buy necessary items. Last month after the tragic death of Caroline Flack people were full of remorse and promising to care for others, but now that seems to be forgotten and everyone is back to Me Me Me I am ok, forget about everyone else.

My parents and grandparents often told me of the caring and sharing attitude of people during the Second World War, I believe that today's society's attitude would not cope in that era. Rationing and restrictions are needed if everyone is to survive the coronavirus, not to mention crime may be increased by those unfortunate not to be able to buy essentials and are driven to stealing to feed their families.

Please think of others before it is to late.
