A BRADFORD casting agency is seeking youngsters from South Asian ethnic groups to try out for TV school drama Ackley Bridge.

Articulate stage school and agency currently supplies more than 100 children for the popular Channel 4 drama. The new series is filming in Calderdale for 10 weeks.

Articulate principal Stacey Burrows would like to work with more young people, aged nine to 18, from a wider range of ethnic groups.

She said: "At the moment we are having to re-use children, but they can only work so many hours a week. We are looking for children and teenagers from Indian and Pakistani backgrounds. We can't guarantee work in Ackley Bridge, but that's the show we are currently working with, and we're also looking for extras for a range of TV shows and films."

"It’s a great way to earn pocket money and gain valuable work experience. Applicants must be well behaved, professional, enthusiastic, punctual and reliable."

Youngsters from Articulate have appeared in previous series of Ackley Bridge, as well Gentleman Jack, Last Tango in Halifax, new Netflix series The English Game, Helen Mirren film The Duke, All Creatures Great and Small and the Dad’s Army movie, as well as CBBC shows such as The Dumping Ground and Creeped Out.

Applications should be made via a parent/guardian to Annan Sellers at sabookings@articulatesdc.com.
