A private hire vehicle "absolutely hammered it" along a 20mph street today before undertaking a car that was sat waiting at a set of red traffic lights.

The incident in Bridge Street, Bradford city centre, was captured on dashcam footage by another motorist, who described it as "horrifying."

The 40-year-old man, who sent the T&A the footage, said it could have resulted in a "very serious accident."

According to the time displayed on the dashcam, the incident happened at 3.07pm this afternoon.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I was sat parked in my car on Bridge Street, Bradford when I heard a car coming up behind me at some serious speed.

"As I tried to look into the side mirror on my right I saw this black Audi absolutely hammer it past me towards the traffic lights at Cineworld in Bradford city centre.

"I was horrified to see it was a Bradford plated private hire driver!

"If that wasn't horrifying enough I then saw him undertake a car that was sat waiting at the set of red lights.

"It's not very clear but I'm pretty certain he went though the second set of traffic lights too!

"I was gobsmacked. Firsty because he was a private hire driver and secondly because of the manoeuvre he pulled at the set of red lights.

"This is obviously unacceptable and and beyond words really.

"He could have caused a very nasty crash especially if he'd collided with the poor chap waiting at the lights. This type of driving has to stop, its horrendous and terrifying."
