IT'S that time of year again when children head to school dressed in weird and wonderful costumes.

World Book Day is perhaps one of the biggest celebrations of books and reading for pleasure across the globe.

There will be a wide range of activities across the district to encourage children to celebrate and discover their local library and reading.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: "There are lots of events taking place in our libraries this year to celebrate World Book Day and get children passionate about books. It is a great chance to promote reading and a love of books."

One of the big appeals of the annual festival is playing dress up with many children ready to become their favourite book character for the day.

But which books and people did our pupils pick?

What is your response?TRINITY ALL SAINTS PRIMARY SCHOOL celebrated World Book Day this year using 'Tuesday,' a book by David Weisner. Children from nursery through to year 6 had a great day pretending to be detectives, interrogating the characters from the story and writing fantastic news reports about the evidence that they collected. We even had frog cakes for lunch!
