THE FAMILY of a lorry crash victim have issued a new picture as a police appeal for information continues.

Jean Hepworth, who was 69, and from Liversedge, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Wednesday morning.

It happened on Westgate, in Heckmondwike, at around 11.05am.

Jean was crossing the road when the collision occurred with a DAF large goods vehicle.

Her family today released a photo of Jean in Whitby, which was a place she enjoyed visiting, according to a police spokesperson.

Jean was a much-loved and well-known character in the Heckmondwike area.

The store manager of Bargain World, Helen Hilton, paid tribute to shop regular, Jean, and said she will be "greatly missed throughout Heckmondwike".

Jean was named locally as the victim of the crash on Wednesday evening, with police confirming her identity this afternoon.

A photo of Jean also emerged, and was being shared, on social media website, Facebook, yesterday.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, as well as anyone who may have dashcam footage of it, or what happened immediately prior to it.
