STONE slabs are reported to have been stolen from a tranquil garden area in Saltaire.
The Wash House Garden, on Caroline Street, is lovingly tended to and maintained by volunteers.
But as this picture shows, some of the stone slabs on the wall of the garden appear to have been removed.
Volunteer Dina Plowes said some have been taken away and some have been propped up.
She said it was the second time it had happened in two to three years and they may have been stolen to order.
Maria Glot, the Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Guide, said she was "gobsmacked".
"It's a nice little area for people to enjoy. It's sad, I don't understand it."
It has been reported to police.
