Alongside the supermarket’s 22,000 square feet of shopping area there was also a cafeteria for light snacks on the first floor, a children’s fairground outside the rear entrance and situated on sloping land near Harper Lane, a kiddie climbing frame and tree stump.

A warm welcome was assured for all shoppers not only by the friendly checkout staff but also by the warm-air curtains above each door.
