POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a crash.
It happened on Elland Bridge in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were called at around 4.57am by the ambulance service to a report a blue Volkswagen Golf had been in collision with a lamppost and a wall.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, received medical treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the vehicle driving in the area prior to the collision to get in touch.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting log 163 of 25/02.
