ANYONE who managed to get into work today will most likely be dreading the journey home.

Many of roads in and out of the district were gridlocked while others waited to catch late-running trains due to problems on the lines.

There have been more delays and affected routes into the afternoon with some warnings now in place.

Here's the latest...

  • A points failure in the Mirfield area is causing disruption to journeys through this station. Trains running between Leeds / Mirfield and Halifax / Huddersfield may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 5.45pm.
  • Due to flooding between Lancaster and Skipton some lines are blocked. One T&A reader has reported trouble on this route. Northern train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 5pm.
  • Due to flooding between Keighley and Skipton some lines are blocked. Disruption is expected until 5pm. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
  • Elland Road in Brighouse is closed to all traffic due to a landslip affecting 564 & 571 bus services. 571 will operate normal route but delays are likely. There is a possible diversion for 564 as soon the operator confirms this with Metro.
