PLANS to convert the basement of a city centre building into office space have been submitted to Bradford Council.

MMR Construction has submitted an application to change the use of the basement of 22 to 24 Canal Road - a building that has been converted into 77 flats.

If the plans are approved then 421 square metres of storage space in the building's basement would be converted into an office - and the application says the office space could bring 20 jobs to the building.

The rest of the building's basement is taken up by a gym and yoga studio.

Listed city centre building could be converted into over 200 flats

The property is on the junction of Canal Road and Balme Street.

The application says: "We proposed to install more historic images of the mill in its heyday to the office entrance foyer to give a feeling of its historic past set against its modern conversion."

A decision on the application is expected in April.
