WELCOME to Yorkshire has announced dates for its popular Tour de Yorkshire roadshows, which give residents and businesses everything they need to know to make the most of this year’s race.

Bradford Council is working with Welcome to Yorkshire who will be running a roadshow in Haworth as well as one in Ilkley to share information on how to get involved, build excitement and maximise the benefits of the global media coverage.

Stage Three of the men’s race and Stage Two of the women’s race will come through Oxenhope, Leeming, Denholme Clough, Keelham and Queensbury on Saturday May 2.

Stage Four of the men’s race will then come through Denholme Clough, Leeming, Haworth, Oakworth, Goose Eye, Ilkley, The Cow and Calf Rocks, Burley Woodhead and Menston on Sunday May 3.

The roadshow in Haworth will take place at Haworth Old School Room, Church Street, Haworth on Monday March 2 6pm to 8pm.

The roadshow in Ilkley will take place at Ilkley’s King’s Hall on Wednesday March 18 6pm to 8pm.

Details on road closures, the annual sportive and Welcome to Yorkshire’s various cycling legacy projects will be discussed, along with ways people can become an official Tour Maker or take part in the popular land art and best dressed location competition.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “We’re delighted that the Tour de Yorkshire is coming to the district over two days and that people will be able to see the action in both the men’s and the women’s races.

"These roadshows are an ideal opportunity for residents and businesses along the route to find out all about the event and how they can get involved and make the most of this opportunity to show-case their area.”
