HOUSE prices increased in Bradford in December, new figures show.

​The ​boost ​contributes to the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area ​achieve 3.5% annual growth​.

The average Bradford house price in December was £141,414, Land Registry figures show​ – a 1.1% increase on November.

Over the month, the picture was ​less good than that across Yorkshire and The Humber, where prices ​increased 1.7%​, but Bradford outperformed the 0.3% rise for the UK as a whole.

Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Bradford ​​rose by £4,700 – putting the ​area ninth among Yorkshire and The Humber’s 21 local authorities for annual growth.

​The best annual growth in the region was in Ryedale.
