A NEW store will soon open on a city centre street that has recently been blighted by empty units.
Savers, which specialises in health, home and beauty products, will open in the unit on Kirkgate that was formerly occupied by Millets.
No date for the opening has yet been given, although the company is advertising for staff on its website.
Currently the nearest branch of Savers is on Towngate in Keighley, with Halifax and Batley among the chain's 450 stores nationwide.
New discount stores hit sales at Kirkgate Market - new report claims
When Millets shut in September it left half of the units on Kirkgate empty.
Since then the British Heart Foundation has moved into a unit on the corner of Kirkgate and Queensgate, having re-located from nearby Ivegate.
That Ivegate unit will be converted into a new bar.
