OVER half of all attacks on firefighters in West Yorkshire at the end of last year happened in Bradford.
A new report into activities of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service over the October to December period will be discussed by members of West Yorkshire Fire Authority on Friday.
In the three month period there were 68 attacks on fire staff reported.
Of these 35 took place in the Bradford District.
Although no firefighters were injured, two vehicles were damaged in the attacks, and one incident saw a weapon brandished at officers.

Crews from Bradford Station were the most targeted, with 10 attacks on firefighters from that station in three months - including the incident where a weapon was brandished. Other attacks in the district included 10 incidents were fireworks were pelted at crews, and eight incidents where stones or other items were thrown.
There were 11 attacks in Calderdale, five in Wakefield, 11 in Leeds and six in Kirklees. One attack in Kirklees saw a firefighter struck by an unknown members of the public, causing bruising.
The report says: "The Chief Fire Officer re-emphasises that even one attack is one too many and that every assistance and encouragement will be given to the police to bring offenders to court."
