A DEVELOPMENT of seven homes could be built on a Baildon site if new plans are approved.

The application, by Andrew Hardisty, would see an area of scrub land at the junction of Cliffe Lane, Green Lane and Otley Road developed.

The houses would be three bedroom, and there would be 14 parking spaces on the site.

The plot of land is near the Shipley/Saltaire border and opposite Baildon Recreation Centre.

Controversial Baildon housing plan is withdrawn

The application says: "It is effectively scrub land, covered in weeds and generally not in the best of condition. Given the nature of the existing use and site conditions, the development as proposed can only serve to enhance the overall character and quality of this part of the urban area."

The Council's Design and Conservation Officer Hannah Meekings has had their say, adding: "The design of the dwellings is comparable with the residential properties in the surrounding area."

A decision on the application is expected late next month.
