Sikh landlord Paul Chand found a new way to bring more cheers to Diwali - by having a special ale brewed in its honour.
Mr Chand, who has been at the Castle pub in Grattan Road for two years, has been selling the 4.5 per cent beer only during the festival which ends on Tuesday.
He got Cullingworth-based Old Spot brewery to barrel up about 150 pints of the special brew.
And added: "We're a traditional English pub run by a Sikh and to celebrate Bradford being a city of many backgrounds and faiths we thought it would be a good idea to get a beer brewed for the occasion. It has to be a first for a beer to be named after Diwali."
Diwali is a major religious festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs - known as the Festival of Lights.
It symbolises the triumph of good over evil and lamps are lit as a sign of joy and hope.
