Gardener Steve Thorp is now the official world record holder for the largest number of bedding plants planted in one hour.
Mr Thorp, a former Bradford Council gardener, has been formally recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.
He made his bid to establish a record in October last year.
He carried out a sponsored plant in Haworth park to raise money for a new stage for the village primary school. He managed to plant 2,020 polyanthus and bellis daisies. His initial target was only 1,500 plants.
Steve said: "I feel brilliant about it. It's great for everyone who was cheering me on.
"Now we'll see who attempts to beat it."
Haworth Primary head teacher Janet Parkinson said: "The certificate will go up in a place of honour in the school."
She paid tribute to Mr Thorp's support team, school site manager Paul Plant and Ian Chapman and Fiona Wild.
