FIREFIGHTERS have praised the quick-thinking of workers from United Utilities for helping to quickly extinguish a HGV fire.
Crews from Lazonby, Shap and Appleby were sent to Penrith just after 10am on Friday.
A spokesman from Lazonby fire station said: "The vehicle was well alight on arrival.
"The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.
"There was some quick thinking from United Utilities, who ensured that we had enough supplies to tackle the fire."
