EMERGENCY workers are investigating a crash on a major city centre road.
Police were called to reports of a pedestrial hit by a car on Shipley Airedale Road/Leeds Road at 1.11pm.
One man is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary for a serious head injury.
The air ambulance was called to the scene and landed at a nearby car park.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Air Ambulance said the man was in a "serious condition".
The crash took place near the YBS building and, as the road was shut for most of the afternoon, traffic backed up in most directions.
A number of emergency vehicles were at the scene.
