PEOPLE are being asked to share their comments as part of a public consultation process for proposed engineering works at Bingley Station.

It forms part of a Diversity Impact Assessment (DIA). The purpose of the DIA is to assess the impact of the proposed works on characteristics that are protected by the Equality Act. Once the potential impacts have been identified, the DIA can be used to plan ways to address these impacts wherever possible.

It is proposed that the following works are carried out:

• External and internal refurbishment of two retail/commercial units within the main station building, to a standard where they can be leased to future tenants;

• External refurbishment of the Platform 1 waiting room; and

• External refurbishment of the Platform 2 waiting room.

The station will remain operational while the refurbishment works are carried out, the start date and duration of the works are yet to be determined.

The DIA aims to ensure that the work does not unintentionally have a negative effect on groups protected by the Equality Act. Responses need to be received by Monday, February 17, via ellen.lishman@jnpgroup.co.uk.
