A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after being knocked down outside a police station.

Police closed Lilycroft Road, between Patent Street and Heaton Road, at around 10:40am while the situation was dealt with.

A witness said the road was closed outside Manningham Police Station, with lots of police cars at the scene initially.

Mevhish, who works nearby at Westbourne Green Medical Centre, saw the scene on her break at 10.45am.

She told the Telegraph & Argus: "The police had cordoned off from the traffic lights upwards and were escorting any residents from the mills up the road."

The pedestrian was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI).

The road reopened at 11:12am.
