EXHIBITIONS, operas, food markets and rock music - there's something for everyone in the district this weekend.

The fun starts on Friday night, with events happening all weekend until a poignant post-Christmas service at Bradford Cathedral.

Here is a rundown of the fun:

Friday - Run Logan Run at Fuse Art Space

Andrew Neil Hayes and Matt Brown (drum kit/percussion) bring their tribal drums and saxophone to the Rawson Place venue, between 8pm and 10.30pm.

All weekend - Anne Brontë: 'Amid the brave and strong' at Bronte Parsonage Museum

A new exhibition for Anne Brontë's bicentenary.

Anne’s life and work have had much less exploration than those of her sisters.

This new exhibition will delve into key elements of Anne’s life, from her childhood at the Parsonage, to how her legacy has been shaped by others since her death.

The venue is open between 10am and 5pm. Tickets: Adult - £9, adult 65+ - £7, concession - £6, child - £4 (under-5s free)

Family ticket - £22 (up to two adults and four children) or £10 (one adult and one child). The exhibition runs until January 1, 2021.

All weekend - Kehillah: photography by Nudrat Afza at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery

The city's synagogue built in 1880 in an unusual Moorish style, is a grade II-listed building, which almost shut down in 2013 unable to afford roof repairs - until the Muslim community raised funds to cover costs. A £103,000 lottery grant followed.

Manningham-based photographer Nudrat Afza took black and white photos of what felt like the synagogue's final chapter.

Her exhibition, Kehillah, which can mean congregation or community in Hebrew, is supported by Arts Council England.

Entrance free, open between 11am and 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. The exhibition runs until May 3.

All weekend - Lindsey Tyson and Sarah Dew: Go Back With Me at Bronte Parsonage Museum

Textile artist Lindsey Tyson and sonic artist and composer Sarah Dew present an audio exhibition that explores the emotional importance of place in Anne Brontë’s life.

These Scarborough-based artists have created a series of works drawing on Anne’s relationship with Scarborough and Haworth, and her journeys between these two places.

The venue is open between 10am and 5pm. Tickets: Adult - £9, adult 65+ - £7, concession - £6, child - £4 (under-5s free). Family ticket - £22 (up to two adults and four children) or £10 (one adult and one child). The exhibition runs until January 1, 2021.

Saturday - Met Opera Live: Porgy and Bess at Pictureville at National Science and Media Museum

The final stage work of George Gershwin, Porgy and Bess is regarded as one of the greatest American operas of the 20th century.

The screening, rated 12A, starts at 5.55pm. Tickets, priced £32 - adult, £25 to £27 - concessions, £10 - under-16s. For more information, call 01274 202 030.

Saturday - European Union Chamber Orchestra at St George's Hall

The European Union Chamber Orchestra, joined by one of Britain’s most distinguished pianists Peter Donohoe. The show starts at 7.30pm.

Saturday - Son et Lumière at Bradford Cathedral

To mark the Year of Cathedrals: Year of Pilgrimage, Bradford Cathedral stages an evening pilgrimage around this sacred space, where Christians have worshipped for almost 1,400 years.

Visitors will travel together around the Cathedral, learning more about the story of Bradford and its Cathedral will unfold in words and music. Free entrance.

Meet outside the North Door of Bradford Cathedral to begin our pilgrimage, at 6.30pm and runs until 7.45pm.

Saturday - Girlschool at Nightrain

Girlschool come to Nightrain, supported by Evyltyde and Black Falcon between 7pm and 11pm.

Girlschool are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after more than 40 years. Tickets for the Queensgate, Bradford, venue are priced £18 to £15.

Sunday - Bishop Blaise Wool Market at Bradford Industrial Museum

The Moorside Road, Eccleshill, site hosts a wool market with stallholders, food vendors and entertainment - to celebrate the patron saint of Woolcombers, Bishop Blaise, and the history of wool in Bradford.

Entrance is free. The market will run between 10am and 4pm.

Annual Legal Service - Bradford Cathedral

All the Judiciary, including High Court judges and Magistrates from throughout West Yorkshire, gather for this wonderful spectacle and public service when we acknowledge the sovereignty of God and the Judeo-Christian foundation of UK law and the legal system.

This year's event will feature the Right Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley, Bishop of Ripon, as the preacher. It will run between 11am and 12.30pm.

Sunday - Real Food Ilkley Market at The Grove, Ilkley

The Market, held at The Grove, is a celebration of locally produced fine food and drink in the heart of Ilkley, on the first Sunday of every month. The market will run from 10am to 3pm. Free entry.

Sunday - Exhibitions launch: Nudrat Afza/Islamic Metalware at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery

Meet photographer Nudrat Afza in her exhibition Kehillah. Meet the team from London's Courtauld Gallery alongside Precious and Rare: Islamic metalwork from the Courtauld, a touring exhibition of 10 remarkable pieces of Islamic metalwork dating from the 13th to the 16th centuries.

Entrance is free. The launch event runs between 1pm and 3pm.

Sunday - Candlemas Eucharist at Bradford Cathedral

The Eucharist on the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple marks 40 days since Christmas and is a pivotal point in the Christian year.

During the service all are welcome to join a procession with candles around the building.

The service runs between 4pm and 5.15pm and entrance is free.
