Talented athletes are being offered free membership of Craven Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre in Skipton by Craven Council.
The scheme, Free Access to National Sports People (FANS), has been put in place to help them develop their skills and develop training programmes.
Councillor David Heather said membership would be for one year and people would be assessed annually.
Those eligible would have to be either a senior - over 16 - in a national Great Britain or England squad, listed in the top ten of any national, over-14 age group ranking, selected as part of an officially constituted national training squad or programme, or a member of a current regional team or squad.
Twenty-five local athletes have already been identified and invited to apply but others interested should contact Bruce Dinsmore, Sports Development Officer on (01756) 706391.
Application forms, available until the end of November, can be obtained at www.cravendc.gov.uk/Craven/Residents/Leisure.
