A FORMER hairdressers in Cleckheaton is to be turned into a dog grooming salon after plans were approved.
Jessica Fennell applied to Kirklees Council to change the use of the building on Westgate to allow her business to take it over.
It would operate on an appointment-only basis, with no more than two animals in the salon at any one time.
The majority of appointments would last a maximum of two hours and there would be no more than five dogs per day.
Opening hours would be 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
One nearby resident objected to the change as they "don't want to hear dogs barking all day".
Council planners approved the changes, saying it was "sustainable development".
