AN anti-bullying campaigner is hosting her first black tie event to raise awareness for those suffering with bullying.

Rachel Spencer originally from Rawtenstall, is holding a mental health and bullying campaign at The Farfield Golf and Sailing Club in Manchester, to support adults and children who have been through bullying.

Ms Spencer first started BeeU three and a half years ago introducing drama based workshops into schools, colleges and even workplaces.

She said: "I have been touring the UK with my anti-bullying and mental health workshop and have met and helped many people along the way.

"The support has been incredible.

"We are having the black tie event to raise more awareness to the topic.

"We have some speakers and performers all who have suffered with bullying and mental health.

"I was badly bullied when I was younger and family members have had the same and working with people as a job I have encountered some horrific stories.

"Bullying happens everywhere and BeeU hopes to create more awareness.

"The future for us is that we hope to open a venue for people to come to for support, help and to meet new people."

The event starts at 6.30pm.
