THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers were on patrol at around 10:50pm on Monday, January 27.

They were in the Birstall area when they arrested three males, with the help of the police helicopter.

The three men had failed to stop for police. 

A 23-year-old and 16-year-old, from Cleckheaton, as well as a 35-year-old, from Gomersal, were all arrested on suspicion of Going Equipped to Steal, Dangerous Driving, Possess Offensive Weapon and Failing to Stop for Police.

Officers interviewed the men and they were bailed for further enquiries, including forensics.

The 16-year-old was also charged with an outstanding shoplift offence and was bailed to appear at court.

The 23-year-old was charged with an outstanding burglary and theft from motor vehicle offence.

He was kept in custody for court the following morning.
