SUPERMARKET giant Aldi has applied for longer delivery hours at its Bingley store.

The company was given planning permission to open a store on Dubb Lane in 2015, and the shop opened later that year.

One of the conditions of the application was that delivery hours to the business were limited.

On Sundays the store could only receive deliveries between 8am and 6pm.

The company has submitted an application to Bradford Council to alter this condition, allowing deliveries up to 8pm on Sundays.

Explaining the need for a longer deliver window, the application says: "This is an important tool to assist the store in preparing for the week ahead after the two consecutive busiest trading days."

It says traffic is light on Sunday, and so the altered delivery hours would have "very little, if any, impact on the local road network."

A decision on the application is expected in April.
