AFTER the horror show at Mansfield the previous game, Bantams fans seemed to be a lot happier and more encouraged by their side’s 1-1 home draw with Cheltenham Town last night.

The draw against fellow promotion hopefuls also came with the scoring return of captain Clayton Donaldson and was also achieved after they had Jamie Devitt sent off.

City fans took to Twitter to voice their views about the performance at Valley Parade.

BCBCFBCFCOK: “30 games played. 2/3 of the season done. Never been out of the play offs despite being on a protracted downward turn in form. It’s a funny old season.”

Sam: “First half last night was good, massive improvement but second half we were played around the park. Cheltenham dominated us however the players did seem to show more passion but in the end it looked as if Cheltenham wanted it more.”

Ian Hemmens: “Thought Connolly, Cooke & Paudie were outstanding last night. The whole team put a shift in. Sadly the referee spoilt the game with his petty jobsworth like performance.”

Raj: “Good point today with 10 men, players give there all can’t ask for more well done.”

NiB: “All these games in hand around us and above us could see it go either way in next month. Best case scenario were playing for 6th or 7th already. Worst we finish 9th or 10th. But football is a funny thing and we'll see who comes or goes.”

Phill: “Shame about sending off as would have been Intresting 11vs 11 but can’t knock effort like that, all worked there socks off. Big week ahead transfer wise, make or break.”

Alan Higgins: “Wasn't the prettiest but was a performance full of committment and effort was that much better.”

Jack Hepworth: “Much improved tonight still a way to go but players effort and determination was there to see which was refreshing after the last few games couple of new faces required and lets start from scratch ,new slate 🤞🏻 hopefully ...”

Jimmy G: “Great passion shown by a set of lads who genuinely look like they want to play for us. Good performance given the circumstances.”

Bez: “I won't lie I didn't fancy it or us tonight, so watched on from home.that performance should be the absolute minimum requirement week in week out & it is a disgrace for me that after months of shocking performances this feels like some sort of progress.”

Manager Gary Bowyer also received support after a difficult afternoon on Saturday:

A Dylan Connolly fan club has also developed with Bantams fans urging the club to sign him on a permanent basis.

Charlie Dewhirst: “At the crack of dawn tomorrow get on the blower to Wimbledon and pay them whatever they want for Dylan . Absolute work horse that kid best player on the pitch by far and shows so much passion.”

Declan Holmes: “Dylan Connolly needs signing up permanently 100% his pride and passion is second to none.”

But the last word needs to go to Bowyer, who saw the funny side of the club’s transfer window link to striker Will Grigg, simultaneously showing off his knowledge of 90s dance music at the same time.
