POLICE are investigating an early hours fire which "engulfed" an empty house in Bradford.

Crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green arrived at Fearnside Street around 3am today (Tuesday, January 28) to reports of a fire.

One witness, who described the fire as "large", said the blaze "engulfed" the entire property.

Now the house stands damaged, blackened on the outside and boarded up.

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue confirmed it left the scene just after 4am.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are investigating a fire at an unoccupied address in Fearnsides Street, Bradford, which is believed to have started at around 3am today (Tuesday)."
