Cadets from the 264 (Skipton) Squadron of the Air Training Corps will take part in a memorial walk up Buckden Pike tomorrow.
The trek will remember five Polish airmen who died when their Wellington Bomber crashed in a snowstorm in January 1942 while on a training mission.
One airman, Joe Fusniak, survived the crash. He crawled two miles down rough terrain to the village of Cray, where he was helped by White Lion landlord David Parker and his daughter, Nonny.
After the war, Mr Fusniak came back to Buckden and, with local and RAF help, a memorial cross was erected at the crash site.
Some of the pieces of the downed Wellington are included in the memorial.
