BY her own admission, it's been a long time coming, but East Lancashire X Factor star Grace Davies is finally ready to release her first official single.

Grace, from Langho, wowed judges on the X Factor in 2017, finishing as runner-up to Rak-Su.

On the back of the show, the video of her 2017 audition track 'Roots' went viral and has been viewed more than 20million times, and her Soundcloud rendition of Adele's 'Hello' racked up almost 60million plays.

She has been writing and working on her music ever since but fans have been waiting for an official release.

And now her new single Invisible is out on January 31.

She said: “Guess who’s got a new single coming out? Yep it’s me!

“I’m so excited to announce that my first official single Invisible is coming out on January 31, 2020.

“You can pre-save it to your playlists now, and it’ll be available next week everywhere you get your music.

“Thank you all for waiting so patiently, I really wanted to take my time and get this completely right, I hope you love it as much as I do.

“Excited to start 2020 off with a bang.”

Grace, 22, who honed her musical skills with gigs on the East Lancashire pub circuit, has been teasing her new music reveal on her Twitter page.

She tweeted on January 20: “The countdown begins…”

Plenty of her fans took to twitter to announce their excitement.

One fan called Goldie Evolution said: “I have been waiting since you were on X-Factor to hear music from you.

“Not sure why it took so long but either way, I’m excited.”

Another user, Jan M, said: “This is so amazing. I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.

“Now it finally happens, this will be a masterpiece.”

Grace even replied to some fans, with one tweeting her: “Next Friday? Cancel all plans.”

She replied: “That’s the attitude.”

The singer-songwriter previously came under fire from some of her fans on the amount of time it has taken her to release new music.

She was forced to put out a statement on her Facebook page, saying: “I’ve been working my socks off for the past 15 months, in studios every single day, writing the most personal songs and putting every single emotion into my music.

“I’ve been laughing and crying and all in between, but most of all I have had the best time creating an album - which is my absolute dream, and that is all because of you guys.

“I’m making this album for us all, and I need it to be perfect.”
