PLANS for a new chicken speciality shop in Allerton have been refused.

An application was submitted to Bradford Council to turn an old newsagents on Allerton Road, Allerton, into the takeaway.

Documents submitted with the application said: "The existing premises were used a a newsagents shop but closed earlier this year."

It added: "No interest has been shown for re-letting the shop other than as an A5 hot food takeaway of which there are four/five within the district.

In refusing the application, planners said there was "insufficient information", with "inadequate" information on the fume extraction system to ensure it would deal with smells and odour and on the proposed mitigation measures for noise control, as there is a flat above.
