A FOUR-CAR fire earlier this morning is being treated as "suspicious" by emergency services.

Crews from Bradford and Odsal got the call out at 6.30am and arrived at a car wash on Halifax Road to find vehicles "well alight".

Around ten minutes later, police were on the scene after the owner reported it as a burglary.

West Yorkshire Police said the blaze was not thought to be suspicious at first but fire services later believed it was deliberate.

Police are now investigating and checking CCTV footage.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

A spokesperson for Odsal fire station said: "We don't know what caused it.

"There were four vehicles well alight by the time the crews got there and in danger of spreading to the building.

"It's being treated as suspicious.

"The police were in attendance."

A witness has told how firefighters cut the gates open to get in a car park, using two large pumps and four breathing apparatus.

It is believed three of the vehicles were caravans and another was a car.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

One witness told the Telegraph & Argus: "When I was passing by, the fire engine had to cut the gates open to get into the car park and they had fire hoses crossing the road and the cars had to drive over them."
