IDLE rowers Chris Nicholl and James Tordoff have less than 200 miles to go to finish the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

The Hell Oar High Water duo had completed 2,566 nautical miles by 4pm on Wednesday.

That meant they had just 178 nautical miles to go to reach Antigua in the Caribbean after setting off from the Canary Isles on December 12, Election Day, 41 days ago.

A post by their support team on Facebook said: "The boys are in their final push and family have arrived in Antigua ready to welcome them in!"

The pair, who had never rowed before they started training for the adventure, are in fourth place in the pairs class and 20th overall. Fifteen teams have completed the race.

Chris and James are raising money for three charities - Centrepoint, the Bradford Teaching Hospitals charity and the Ben automotive charity. Go to hohw.co.uk for details.
