The stars and sounds of Tamla Motown are celebrated in a new show coming to Bradford next weekend.

The Magic of Motown, featuring four-piece male harmonies, international female vocalists and a seven-piece band, honours the Tamla legends who brought the world to its dancing feet.

The show features numbers from the likes of Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Martha Reeves, Smokey Robinson, Mary Wells and Stevie Wonder.

The hits include Get Ready, Stop in the Name of Love, My Girl, Dancing in the Street, Reach Out I'll Be There, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted, Tears of a Clown and Ain't Too Proud To Beg.

Reach out, and you could be back in Detroit during Tamla Motown's heyday with this non-stop musical extravaganza.

The show also features former X-Factor contestants Pierre Blue' Herell and Ryan King.

The singers reached the boot camp' stage of the ITV show with their boy band Ghostt.

"We were thrilled to be selected as one of the top six boy bands to enter," says Pierre. "It was awesome, we were mentored by Simon Cowell and performed Brandy's Have You Ever."

The show's producer Michael Taylor says: "The Magic of Motown recreates that practically indefinable Motown sound with a production that's the perfect night out; whether you're young, young at heart, or old enough to know better."

  • The Magic of Motown is at St George's Hall on Saturday November 17 at 7.30pm. For tickets ring (01274) 432000.
