SIX-YEAR-OLD Violet-Rose had a big smile on her face when it was revealed she won the Shipley Elf Hunt.

The lucky winner was thrilled to receive £100 after finding all of Santa's skiving elves hiding in the town's shops.

Violet-Rose has spent £10 of her money so far and has told how she plans to give the rest to a charity.

Her proud Dad, Karl Blackwell, told the Telegraph & Argus: "Violet-Rose was thrilled to have won - I'm not sure if she understands the value of £100 though, it was more the winning of the competition.

"We were invited to come to Shipley to collect the prize.

"We live in Saltaire but do go to Shipley quite often. Violet-Rose has weekly swimming lessons in Shipley and also has ballet lessons on the edge of Shipley and Baildon, and we use the library very often which we all feel is excellent.

"It is nice to see Shipley benefitting like this. I hope it continues!"

The event was created to bring a 'sparkle' back to Shipley by showing the range of independent shops on offer.
