The Minister for Yorkshire, Caroline Flint MP, was due to visit Bradford today and speak at an event at the National Media Museum.
She will use her speech at the Museum's Libraries and Archives Yorkshire "Big Day" to applaud the sector's contribution to the region and say that extra money looks set to be available to Yorkshire museums.
The money is coming from the Government's Renaissance project which invests in regional museums and has seen £507,000 come to Bradford in the past year.
The project's overall funding is to increase by £3.7m by 2010/2011, which could signal more cash for Bradford.
Mrs Flint is due to say: "The Government is investing more than £3.5m across Yorkshire under the Renaissance museums programme over the next three years. Culture can make a huge impact in transforming the aspirations of a local community to understand, enjoy and take pride in our diverse heritage."
