COUNCILLORS will decide whether to allow a Bradford branch of McDonalds to open earlier this week.

The burger giant's Rooley Lane branch currently has a licence that allows it to open from 5am to midnight through the week and from 7am to midnight on weekends.

But the company has submitted a request to Bradford Council to vary that licence, allowing it to open at 5am seven days a week.

On Thursday members of the Council's Bradford District Licensing Panel will decide whether to grant the licence.

Members will hear that there has been one objection to the application.

Oodles Chinese: New restaurant and takeaway comes to Bradford

Submitted by a resident, it claims the earlier opening hours would "vastly increase disturbance to our community."

It adds: "The situation with the present trading hours already makes our lives unbearable and the granting of permission would vastly interfere with the quality of our lives."

The objector says the people visiting the restaurant at that time would be "travelling at speed with high volume music beating."

The panel meets in City Hall at 11.30am on Thursday.
