QUEEN'S Road in Bradford is to remain closed until 10am on Thursday because of a spillage of animal fats.

The stretch of the road between Manningham Lane and Midland Road is still closed due to the large spillage of animal fat on the road on Tuesday.

Bradford Council said: "As you can imagine it's taking some cleaning up - so it's not expected to be reopened until 10am tomorrow morning.

"Thank you to local residents and drivers for their patience while this is sorted out."

The substance was believed to be a biofuel, made up of animal fat.

Firefighters said the spillage had left the road as "slippery as ice" and urged drivers to avoid the area.
