Doorstep callers could be banned from a district if a new safety scheme is given the go-ahead.
Residents in the Spen Valley are being consulted on whether they want a cold calling control zone which would bar bogus callers, rogue traders and genuine sales people from knocking on doors across the area.
Letters are being sent to areas around Hunsworth and Drub, Dale Lane in Heckmondwike, and Littletown and Knowler Hill in Liversedge.
If accepted, the scheme covering approximately 2,386 properties would be funded by Spen Valley Area Committee and run by Kirklees Safer Stronger Communities Partnership with West Yorkshire Trading Standards.
