BRADFORD Festival will be moving from its regular July date to August Bank Holiday in 2020.

The weekend long festival, featuring live music, performances, arts and food stalls, is held in City Park every Summer. This past year it ran from July 12 to 14.

At a meeting of Bradford Council on Tuesday evening it was announced that the festival would this year be moving to the August Bank Holiday weekend.

It was in response to a question about events planned for the district in the coming year.

Other events include City Runs and the Big Bradford Bike Ride in the city centre.

Festival fun in City Park as Bradford puts on a show

Bradford Literature Festival and Bradford Science Festival will return, along with Bradford Classic car show, Bradford Pride and the Windrush festival. Lister Park will host its annual lantern parade in Autumn and Saltaire Festival and Shipley Arts Festival will be held in the North of the District.

The Council said: "As well as these events the Council is actively working with partners to ensure a joint approach to the Bradford events calendar and exploring ideas for other cultural events and activities in the run up to the UK City of Culture bid for 2025.
