BRADFORD City's eight-match unbeaten run came to an end at Crawley and some of their fans online called for a change of manager.

Some supporters wanted Bantams manager Gary Bowyer to be sacked and Stuart McCall to return to the club following their disappointing weekend defeat. But calling for a manager to leave after one defeat did seem a little extreme following Bowyer's rebuilding job at Valley Parade after they were relegated last season.

Eoin Doyle’s return to the side didn’t bring the expected spark at Crawley and City fans weren’t happy.

The Bantams army took to social media and online to vent their anger as they crashed to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the mid-table League Two side.

The loss saw the Bantams drop two places to fourth as striker Doyle, who was recalled from his loan at Swindon earlier last week, failed to get on the scoresheet on his return.

Here are just a few of the views from the Craw-ful defeat, as Telegraph & Argus chief sports writer Simon Parker dubbed it.

But Bowyer did receive support and the idea of a return for McCall was not entirely welcomed. sam smith tweeted: “Interesting that people want to replace a manager who has a promotion on his CV for a manager in McCall who has never won promotion and had was sacked last after a run of 1W,1D,11L #bcafc”

Bantams Gav tweeted: “Gary bowyer and the players he has brought in with him aren’t good enough.

“They is No chance of going up this season. Needs a big change at city.”

Ian Baker tweeted: “Don’t forget we were also 8 points ahead of the last play-off place with a game in hand. Now some have a game in hand on us and we are only 2 points clear- not looking good.”

Paul Jackson tweeted: “I’ve travelled the length and breadth of the country supporting #bcafc this season. My choice. The footballs crap and the managers making a mess of it in my opinion. It wasnt just awful yesterday it’s been awful for a good while. Would not bother me at all if Bowyer got the boot.”

But Jamief was a bit more measured with his reaction, tweeting: “Well #bcafc were a massive disappointment today oh well can't win them all.”
