AN ALLERTON nursery has received a 'good' rated from Ofsted.
The Child's Play Neighbourhood Nursery at Leytop Family Centre was given good verdicts on the quality of its education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
Inspectors rated it as 'outstanding' at their previous inspection in 201.
Manager Bev Mullaney said the nursery, which has 37 children on its roll, was set up by local parents and works with the community.
She said staff are proud of offering a lot more than just education for the local community. She said: "We are very pleased."
The rating marks the second piece of news for the nursery in the past month after it scooped the supporting families in need honour at the T&A's 2019 Community Stars Awards in December.
The nursery was praised for providing families with food, clothing and furniture as well as skills training and employing young people.
The inspectors report said Child's Play places children "at the heart of everything it does".
It adds: "Children thrive in the welcoming, friendly and safe environment that staff create for them.
"Leaders have a clear vision for the nursery and are completely community spirited."
