The symbolic reopening of one of the main routes into Otley is taking place today.
Bradford Road, which has been closed since July to allow urgent repairs to be carried out on a culvert near Ellar Ghyll, will actually be open to traffic again on Monday.
But Otley town councillors, who are keen to publicise the event, organised a minibus trip to the site, which will include a symbolic crossing' of the repaired road, today.
Town Clerk Iain Plumtree told Monday's town council meeting that the idea of the event was to "make a great noise that Otley on that side is open again and ready for the Christmas period."
